national geographic - people of ecuador
Role: Creative Filmmaker (Shooting PD / Offline editor)
The brief: National Geographic partnered with Ecuador Tourism to showcase the country’s rich cultural landscape in a digital multimedia package. Part of a tiny crew of two, I was tasked with creating the video component, which was designed to compliment the articles and stills.
The challenge: A shoestring budget, rough terrain, unpredictable weather and a jam-packed run n’ gun schedule meant gear had to be compact, shoot windows were very tight and 17 hour days were had trekking through mountains and holding interviews with language barriers.
The result: A series of beautiful character portraits from across the country, weaving together many disparate elements into one cohesive story.
